What Happens Next?

Reaching out can feel like a significant first step.

​

Once you make contact, we aim to respond within 24–48 business hours. Please note that we operate reduced hours on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so responses may take slightly longer over the weekend.

​

We will arrange your initial appointment and send you a link to complete our online intake form. This form includes space for you to briefly share what has brought you to therapy, allowing your practitioner to be as prepared as possible for your first session.

​

The first session provides an opportunity to explore your needs and to see whether you feel comfortable working together. A good therapeutic fit is important, and sometimes it may not feel like the right match — and that’s okay.

​

If you decide to continue, sessions are typically held weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or as needed, depending on your practitioner’s availability. Sessions last between 45 and 55 minutes.

​

You will receive a confirmation SMS 48 hours prior to your appointment. Please ensure you respond to this message. If you need to cancel or reschedule, providing adequate notice allows us to offer the appointment to someone else.

Confidentiality

Your privacy and trust are very important to us.

​

Everything you share in sessions, or via our contact form, is treated with the highest level of confidentiality.

​

We follow professional ethical guidelines and the Australian Privacy Principles to ensure your information is secure.

​

Nothing is shared without your consent, except in rare situations where we are legally required to act, for example, if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others.

​

You can feel safe knowing that your personal information is handled with care and discretion at all times.

Psych'd is a registered NDIS provider for:

  • Plan-Managed 

  • Self-Managed

  • NDIA-Managed (for participants over 9 years of age)

Medicare

Psych'd does not provide services under Mental Health Care Plans.

As a gap fee is charged for consultations, sessions cannot be claimed through Medicare.​​

Crisis Support

We understand that there are times when life can feel overwhelming or unsafe, and reaching out in those moments can be difficult. While our practice is here to support you in scheduled therapy sessions, we are not a crisis service and are unable to provide immediate emergency support outside of appointments.

​

If you are in urgent need, experiencing thoughts of self-harm, or feel unsafe, please contact one of the services below immediately. These services are available 24/7 and can provide immediate support:

  • Lifeline: 13 11 14 – confidential crisis support

  • Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636 – support for anxiety, depression, or emotional distress

  • Suicide Call Back Service: 1300 659 467 – support for people at risk of suicide

  • Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Ambulance): 000 – for situations where you or someone else is in immediate dange.

You do not have to face this alone. Contacting one of these services is a brave and important step towards safety and support.

Location & Parking

We are located outside Burpengary Plaza.

​

Please note that GPS directions may occasionally direct you to the service station on Station Road. If this happens, continue into Burpengary Plaza.

​

Our practice is situated between Burpengary Hair Design and Atlantic Pools. Please look for our signage on the windows and the building to help you find us easily.

​

There is ample parking available directly out the front of the office for your convenience.

Administrative Hours

Our administrative support operates in line with practitioner availability.

​

As a small practice, staffing hours vary throughout the week.

​

If you contact us outside of staffed hours, your enquiry will be responded to as soon as possible on the next available working day.

​

Please note that on days when a practitioner is not working (for example, if a practitioner has a scheduled day off), there may be limited or no administrative coverage.
